I am a trainee solicitor with Howard Kennedy LLP, a London law firm, and my first seat is in the Private Client department. Previously, I worked as a legal editor for FromCounsel, a innovative online corporate law resource, and also assisted with business development, project management and the IT infrastructure.
After reading for my undergraduate degree in Modern History and International Relations at the University of St Andrews and an Upper Second classification LLB (GDL Upgrade) with BPP, I was Called to the Bar in July 2011, having gained a grade of Very Competent on the part-time Bar Vocational Course at BPP. I have since undertaken the part-time Legal Practice Course, which I passed with Distinction in July 2017.
In March 2015, I was awarded an LLM with Commendation for a distance learning programme in Information Rights Law and Practice. As part of the research I undertook for this degree, I presented a paper at the Changing Notions of Privacy conference in May 2013. My dissertation looked at the decision in Putitstin v Ukraine and whether there is now cause to allow (limited) actions for defamation of the dead, including the notion of a common law personality right in England and Wales. I have a general interest in media and privacy law and policy, corporate law and services for SMEs/entrepreneurs, and also a growing interest in computer, IT and cloud law and policy.
Outside of the law, I am an active gym-goer, and am training for 2018's Prudential Ride London. I also enjoy going to the theatre and travelling.
